LFNS: Long Good Friday

8pm, Friday 10th April 2009

Starting at: Wellington Arch
Half time at: Petty France & Liverpool Street
Length: 14 miles.
Lead marshal: Roger
Status: Rained Off

Starting at 7pm instead of our normal time, the Long Good Friday Night Skate is a fast-paced one-way route for intermediate to advanced skaters, ending with a fun night out in a skater-friendly pub.

Yes, this week we make the most of the fact that Friday is a bank holiday by running a longer than normal skate. On Friday we skate for three hours instead of two, and will have two breaks instead of one. We’ll keep the pace slow until the last section so as many people as possible can stay with us until we reach our final destination, The Smithfield Tavern at Smithfield Market.

Nearest tubes are Barbican and Farringdon, and there’s plenty of night buses from St Pauls. The Smithfield closes at 2am and serves food until midnight.

You must be able to stop, turn and control your speed on an incline to participate safely, and you must be capable of skating in control up and down hill at medium to fast speeds. Check here for our go/no-go weather call 2 hours before the scheduled starting time.
