This weekend the Sunday Stroll is heading out through the West End and City Of London, with half time by the London Stock Exchange and St Paul’s Cathedral. The paved area near the Cathedral is almost perfect for skating, and there’s even a few excellent coffee shops nearby too.

Er, not sure what happened there, the skate title appears to be in Foreign? We’ll look into this, I’m sure we’ll be back to normal service soon, apologies for any inconveniences caused! Could we interest you in a short tour around the moonscapes that our roads have turned into, though? 12.3 short miles, two downhills, and some classical London road surfaces? Come on, treat yourself!

Get your sunglasses out and dress your Sunday best for this week’s Sunday Stroll, when Lead Marshal Antonio takes us on a whizzing tour of London’s main attractions: the regal Buckingham palace and Westminster Abbey, the political centre at Westminster Palace and Whitehall, the historic Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and British Museum, the gentrified Strand, Piccadilly and Russell Square, the heart of theatre land at Drury Lane and Shaftesbury Avenue…

You would be forgiven for thinking you are on an open-top London bus tour – and indeed the pace will be easy enough to bring your visitors with you – just remember to bring your own commentary.

The good news is that 90% of the roads are still there and are still in good condition, the bad news is that a re-route to avoid the roadworks near Goldhawk Road tube station is needed so the route is slightly different from the previous run. Other news is that this is Bren’s first LFNS lead this year.. which is great considering he hasn’t actually managed to get further than 2 miles in to any LFNS this year. So we can’t tell if its going to be fast or .. err, Bren paced!

St Paul’s Stroll

Last week inclement weather caused us to curtail the Sunday Stroll before it had even started. Undaunted and underpants, this week Roggie try again. The route goes through the West End and over towards the city, staying mainly on roads that are plain, main, and hopefully not completely in Spain.

This Friday we’re taking a classic route to Putney and back for halftime at Putney East tube and a run back to town along the smooth surfaces of Cheyne Walk. Bring us your slightly annoyed, your stalkers, your psychotic ex partners, your love obsessed compulsive axe murdering heart rending pitchfork wielding murderous weaponized out of control just can not stop loving you and if I can’t have you then nobody else can either … errr. *Ahem*.

So err … anyway, we want to be inclusive. That’s the point. It’s your choice: dress nice or dress nasty. Bring loving flowery hand-holding goodness, or axe wielding jilted bloody psycho revenge. Dress the part and join our party – the Sunday Stroll on My Bloody Valentines day!

Valentine One-Way Skate

Sunday is Valentine’s day. This Friday we’ll be visiting various places where you can buy romantic gifts and other entertainments to make that special someone feel, err, special.

If Tiffany and Fortnum and Mason are not quite your cup of tea, don’t worry, we’ll also pop by Anne Summers, Agent Provocateur and Clone Zone in Soho. The list goes on and on, so you’re bound to find something to tickle someone’s fancy.

In the end though, this Friday is party night, and the skate ends with a party at The Smithfield. We won’t be skating back to Hyde Park, so bring your shoes and an Oyster card.
