Gaga Arrives At EasterSkate In Giant Chocolate Egg
February 21, 2011
Flamboyant pop star Lady Gaga made her entrance to the 2011 EasterSkate on Sunday encased in a giant chocolate egg. Gaga, 24, arrived on the red carpet inside an alien-like egg carried aloft by attendants dressed as Lindt gold bunnies. The singer and performance artist could barely be seen inside the enclosure, apart from the occasional wave of a black wristguard. It was the latest in a series of increasingly bizarre outfits from Lady Gaga, including a headline-grabbing dress made entirely of silver racing lycra that she wore to the MTV Music Video Awards in September.
Justin Bieber was heard to remark: “You’re an egg”.
In a Twitter message sent shortly after her red-carpet arrival, Lady Gaga said: “Cribbins, better get my bunny ears on or I’ll be late for the skate!”. She later emerged from the egg wearing a provocative but empowering bunny girl costume replete with prosthetic shoulders, before pounding away at a towering organ.
Gaga returned to the stage when her “Fame Monster” album beat out efforts by Justin Bieber and Susan Boyle (who’d a thunk it?) to win some sort of award. In her speech the pop star specifically thanked our own loveable Roggie “because when I wrote ‘Born this Way,’ I imagined he was singing it – because I wasn’t secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar.”
This years Easter Skate is expected to be one of the most popular ever.
