With so much sunshine lately we thought it was time to do one of our summertime special one-way routes, so this Sunday we’re skating to Richmond Park.
At 9.6 miles, the route is only a little bit longer than a normal Sunday Stroll, but we plan to have two half-time stops – one near Hammersmith and one in Barnes.
Once we get to Richmond Park we’ll skate up Sawyers Hill and end the skate by the gate on Richmond Hill. Some people will probably then skate on to a pub in Richmond for some refreshments before heading home. The White Cross seems a favourite because its down by the river, but there’s a very steep hill between the park and the river so you might want to walk rather than skate to the pub.
As this is a one-way route we won’t be skating back to Hyde Park, so it’s very important that you bring some shoes and an Oyster card if you want to get a train home.
