Sunday Stroll: The checkmate skate

12:00am, 26th June 2011

Starting at: East end of Serpentine Road
Half time at: Embankment
Length: 7.2 miles.
Lead marshal: Antonio
Asbox Transmitter: No
Skate status: GO!

Lead Marshal Antonio is back at the front this Sunday to take us on a gentle Snail Stroll through the London grid. If you want to play a game of chess after the skate don’t forget to collect the pieces along the way: get your king and queen from Buckingham palace, your bishops from Lambeth palace, your knights at Horse Guard, and your rooks at Westminster palace. Oh, and as for pawns, they apparently represent armed peasants or pikemen, so you can probably grab a few of your fellow skaters – just wait until we are back at the park please!
